From the south side of the Coprates Chasma at 15S 302E. Coprates is a 960km section of the Valles Marineris canyon system. The name “Coprates” derives from a classical Martian albedo name, which usually means it is largely inexplicable, but in this case may refer to a river near modern-day Dezful, Iran.
