Lux Aeterna: Images taken by Cassini space probe, 14th September 2008.
Wish I could tell you exactly what this is, but I know only that it’s from a series of observations labelled “Saturn’s G Ring at 1 million kilometers”. And that it looks a ray of sunlight shining into a dusty room.

Resident Evil 7: Desolation.
@SuicideJazz:
Trailer: “Resident Evil 7: Desolation”. We begin… #unsolicitedscreenplay #RA7
The screen is black. Music fades in. Sounds familiar, but it takes you a second: it’s I Put A Spell On You, in the style of Miles Davis #RA7

The world turns: Jupiter and Galilean moons, photographed by Hubble Space Telescope, 10th March 1997.
Images are, again, in delightful near-infrared. Think the moons are Io (upper) and perhaps Ganymede. From Proposal 6452.

Trailer: Fade in. Black turns to red as we pan down. Growing louder, a thumping heartbeat. Something black twitches, swirls. #jp9
The Something flashes past the camera, all teeth and anthracite scales. The water swirls redder. It has...

The World Turns: Three images of Neptune, photographed by Hubble Space Telescope, 18th July 1995.
From a study of the structure of Neptune’s atmosphere. The bright dot to the left of the planet is Triton; it’s sort of hard to make out, but you can just about see that Triton is orbiting in the opposite direction to the rotation of the planet - a retrograde orbit, very unusual for a...

An underwater guy who controlled the sea
A very special day for ohyeahouterspace; 12th July 2011, the 1st anniversary of the discovery of Neptune.
Neptune was discovered on 23rd September 1846 through the work of Bouvard, Le Verrier, and Galle. Since Neptune’s year is 164.8 Earth years long, the first Neptunian anniversary of that date is today.
Accordingly, you can look forward to an entire day ohyeahouterspace postsĀ dedicated...
